Avichai Dukshtein was Chief Resident at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. He received his early medical training in Poznan University, where he distinguished himself with honors for academic excellence. He completed his medical anesthetic training at New York Presbyterian, where he currently works as an attending anesthesiologist.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Dukshtein has performed research on a diverse set of topic that have included liposomal bupivacaine, acute renal insufficiency, morphine pumps, and spinal cord stimulators, epidural steroids, and chronic opioid therapy. He has given presentations at the ASA and PGA on bone cement syndrome, complications with intra-aortic balloon pump, carcinoid syndrome, and use of isoflurane to treat status epilepticus.
Dr. Dukshtein is fluent in Russian and Polish. His interests are as diverse as his academic work, including collecting art books, travel, classical music, European landscape photography, and Middle Eastern History.
